For you, it's free! I doubt we'll be there though, so could you feed the dogs and work on the honey to-do list while you're there? I'm sure our home will be feeling very neglected by then! Thanks! |

We have already booked for the Snoqualmie River RV Park & Campground as have many other caching groups.
The nice thing about that site is that they only require you to pay for the first night up front and the balance when you check in. |

Is this a different camp ground than #2 up above? We will be looking for some place we can leave our trailer for a week if we deside to go on the
Alaska cruise after the event. |

It's the same as #2! Besides being able to book it now, they also have wi-fi there.
I started a new forum topic for the cruise. Here's some info on parking for the cruise. They do have RV parking available there!

I booked a yurt as well! I can't believe they had one left. I'll be coming up with two of my geocaching friends (actually, one is on vacation at the moment and has no idea about any of this!) from Portland, OR. We are considering doing the cruise as well. I'm very excited! |

We were passing through the area last week so I'll add some information about a couple of the RV Parks in the area.
Blue Sky RV Park in Preston: We stopped in to visit them to make a reservation for next year. Seem like really nice folks. They apparently have a lot of snowbirds who come to Washington for the summer so they don't have a lot of spaces for shorter stays. While we don't have a confirmed reservation, they did take down our information and tell us "It shouldn't be a problem." We're operating under the assumption that this will be where we are staying for the duration of GeoWoodstock. Downside is that they do not appear to have WiFi access. Anyone wanting to stay there should be calling them sooner rather than later.
Issaquah Village RV Park: We stayed here for three nights. The RV Park itself is all right, but two downsides. The WiFi service was down the majority of the time we were there and it is very close to the Interstate so you get a LOT of traffic noise. They are located right where the speed limit changes so you get a lot of big rigs accelerating and, worse, decelerating with their jake brakes at all hours of the day and night. Mrs. DanOCan says she didn't sleep for three nights, but it didn't bother me too much...take your own personal tolerance level for traffic noise into account if you are thinking of booking. |

I relize that Tolt Mcdonald Park and Campground is the closest to GZ. About how far from GZ? A group of us is thinking about renting a RV for a very long trip from Georgia. The problem is, the RV would be our only mode of transpertation to and from GZ. So, is this close enough to be able to walk to and from?
Do you have any other suggestions? We thought about renting a car when we go to Washington, but with most of our money tied up in the RV, weren't not sure we can swing that too.
Thanks in advance!!!

I just ran the road on bing maps and it's about 1.5 miles from the campground to Remlinger Farms. You might be able to cut that down a little bit by cutting through the park. I don't remember if the coordinates posted are for the main gate at Remlingers or for the area the event will be held in, but that should give you a pretty good idea of the walkability. |

As Wander Lost said, it's about 1.5 miles, as the crow flies. There are trails you can follow that go from Tolt Macdonald right to Remlinger Farms.
The red lines are all trails! |

BBJR and I are planning on bringing our bikes and biking our way from Tolt/MacDonald park to the event. (We have a yurt reserved there)
A 1.5/2 mile ride seems easily do-able! |

Well, I contacted Blue Sky RV to confirm our "reservation" that we made last summer only to be told they are booked and don't have room for us. Looks like I am scrambling to find an alternative now. |
